How I Became Me…

Hey There,
Welcome. As you may already know, I’m Royalle, the Creator of this blog and this Life as I know it. Thank you for taking the initiative to be more curious on how to live the lifestyle you’ve always wanted. I too took that initiative years ago and each day brings me to where I am meant to be. This is how I got started…
Let’s take it all the way back to the good ole dirty south (NC) of 1999. I was in 5th grade. I was moved from the strict hallways and classrooms of a uniform-wearing, military style structured elementary school to a free flowing, Chick-fil-a eating , recess twice a day environment. WOW! My eyes were completely open. I remember playing on the swings and staring at the moon thinking about how amazing and beautiful life was. This is where I got introduced to the “finer things” in life: a whole new wardrobe, Celine Dion & Shania Twain, field trips to places beyond my city and state, freedom to say the things I wanted, and be curious about anything and everything. I found myself actually listening in class and wanting to learn what the teacher was teaching instead of day dreaming and wanting to escape my what then felt tortured reality. This is where I found my thirst for life.
Through this new creative expression I commenced a love for poetry, international music & histories, and fashion.
Fashion is where it all began. I would find my creativity thrived through picking out my own clothes and styling them how I wanted them to look vs. how everyone else was wearing their clothes. This opened up Pandora’s Box to where I am today. As someone who has been in the Fashion Industry for 20+ years, I would consider myself someone who knows a good bit about the industry as a whole. I concentrated in Art in High School, I took AP classes which trickled into college courses. Having the choice between an Art Major and Fashion Major, the obvious choice for me was Fashion. I used my keen eye for detail with art and integrated it into fashion, pursuing an Apparel and Textiles degree. I knew the effort I’d put in after this decision would shape the rest of my life, so I took the leap of faith and followed my passion. The leap of faith meant trusting myself to know my passion would guide me to where I was meant to be and it did.
Now, I am thankful to be able to use my creative expression as a spiritual guide, blogger, and fashion expert - all the things I love and that flow naturally from me!
I started out right where you are…
I was working full-time in a job where I wasn’t utilizing my full creative capacity, spending 40+ hours a week of my life forcing myself to sit or stand and do work that didn’t make my heart sing. Constantly feeling the burn out of the effort I was putting in with not enough in return and definitely not receiving the pay I knew I was worth.
It wasn’t until I had a major rupture in a long-term relationship that made me re-think my whole life and its’ purpose. I had been spending 5 days a week just waiting for my 2 day weekend, trading my freedom for a paycheck in pursuit of a bigger paycheck down the road.
My dreams were of escaping the long hour work days, spending my time doing things I love like traveling and especially never having to ask permission from a boss or manager to do the things I wanted to do.
I knew there was more to life than what I was living.
I now had the fiery passion lit inside of me once more to follow my passion; my heart’s desires to start living the lifestyle I knew I always wanted.
My Journey…
Los Angeles was a dream of mine and I told myself I was going to move there some day. So one day, while minding my own business, serendipity happened. Someone sparked up a conversation with me and they were looking for someone to work for them in guess where… LA. I was just finishing up college courses and so I completed my senior internship there the following summer. 2016 is when I officially moved to LA. When I arrived again, I set more intentions of becoming a personal stylist and I did just that. I started from the ground up, networking, handing out business cards, creating a portfolio with photos of my friends, and eventually becoming a stylist for a major department store.
In 2019, I got married. It was my dream to be married and dreams really do come true. We lived in LA for a bit, but quickly moved to NYC in 2021 to be on the east coast and closer to family. New York was good to me, but not to my marriage. It ended in divorce and flopped me right on my bootayyy to get me to where I am today. Didn’t expect that one did ya? Neither did I. But living in NYC, as you could imagine, gave me major opportunities! While working for my former employer, I had a client who needed a personal stylist/assistant and guess who…me. This experience gave me a taste of what life could be and would be for just being me.
Life can give us unexpected challenges and it is what we create from those challenges that lead us to our opportunities….
When we’re faced with life altering events, everything else becomes a little less frightening.
You don’t have to wait until your world flips upside down to make the choice to follow your heart and soul’s purpose. You just have to be READY.
After many trial and errors in life, things started to CLICK. I was diving into to more of who I AM and who I WANTED TO BE. This realization came from a reflection of young adulthood by trying to make myself smaller so other people felt more comfortable around my big personality. That obviously didn’t work out for me. My outward grandiose was transmuted into inner simplicity, being able to see through a different lens than before.
Now I have built a business around helping others see the path to pursuing their passions and the steps to get there by becoming the person they’ve always wanted to be, to find themselves again and use the energy that was once used for self-sabatoge to be used for self-empowerment.
To find the life of our dreams, we must first find ourselves…again.
Happiness is a choice.
Do you choose the path of least resistance or will you fight against the current the rest of your life to only realize you’ve been treading water instead of moving and flowing with it?
There are four ways I have broken this journey into to help you achieve what you want. From experience and spiritual guidance, it is through the mind, spirit, and soul where we set our intensions & from the body, where action is taken. All four avenues are important as they all connect you to your highest self. There is no ONE way to achieve what you may call success so the many avenues are here to help guide you on your ways to bigger and better things.
